Perbedaannya ada di dapur pacu. Spesifikasi Microsoft Surface Go 3 ditenagai opsi prosesor Intel Pentium dan Intel Core. Untuk model Intel Pentium menggunakan Pentium Gold 6500Y. Menggantikan Pentium 4425Y yang digunakan generasi keduanya. Sementara, untuk model Intel Core kini menggunakan prosesor Intel Core i3-10100Y. Menurut Microsoft, pembaruan di sektor prosesornya tersebut menawarkan peningkatan performa yang 60 persen lebih cepat jika dibandingkan generasi lawasnya.
