Samsung NX100: Kamera Hybrid dengan fitur i-Lens yang inovatif
Sistem kamera tanpa mirror yang sering disebut sebagai kamera hybrid atau EVIL (Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens), semakin populer dan Samsung tampaknya amat serius menggarap pasar tersebut. Ini dibuktikan dengan kemunculan Samsung NX100 yang merupakan penerus NX10.
Dari segi fisik, perbedaan antara NX10 dan NX100 amat kentara. Jika desain NX10 masih lebih mirip DSLR konvensional dengan bodi yang agak tipis, lain halnya dengan NX100 yang lebih mirip kamera saku berukuran ekstra besar. Acuan desain NX100 terlihat sejalan dengan Panasonic Lumix GF1 atau Olympus PEN EP1/EP2/EPL-1. Kelebihan utama Samsung NX Series dibanding kamera hybrid merk lainnya terletak pada ukuran sensor yang mengadopsi ukuran sensor DSLR kebanyakan, yaitu APS-C. Untuk NX100, sensor yang digunakan masih sama seperti di NX10 yaitu 14,6 megapixel. Layar LCD juga masih sama, OLED 3 inci yang tajam dan terang, dengan kualitas di atas pesaingnya.
Satu fitur inovatif yang diperkenalkan dengan kemunculan NX100 adalah i-Function focus ring. Ring ini tertanam di lensa dan dapat mengatur berbagai setting kamera seperti ISO, shutter speed, dan aperture. Konsepnya boleh dibilang mirip dengan Control Ring di Canon PowerShot S95. Kepintaran lain NX100 ada pada fitur i-mode Scene yang secara otomatis dapat mengenali jenis lensa yang terpasang dan mengombinasikannya dengan situasi yang sedang dibidik untuk menghasilkan foto yang optimal.
Seperti kamera digital modern lain, NX100 juga bisa merekam video HD beresolusi 720p dengna kompresi H.264. Desain yang modern dan fashionable ini diimbangi dengan pilihan warna yaitu hitam, putih, dan coklat. Kamera yang dijual bulan Januari 2011 di kisaran harga Rp 6,5 jutaan ini akan dipaketkan dengan lensa kit baru Samsung 20-50mm.
